Camera Clamp 2

My off the cuff design of Camera Clamp fit the lamp well but the camera not so well. We've made some changes.

We position the camera by creating inserts for the feet, not surrounding the case.

We narrow the platform to camera dimensions except where we will route a rubber band.

We are careful to avoid the power connector.

We remove excess material with concave shaping rather than convex.

I was surprised that printing took two hours, only slightly faster than the first design even after removing substantial volume with the concave shape.

I'm annoyed that the claws I added to guide a rubber band still conflicted with the power cord. I had made casual measurements but still not sized the feature to avoid some interference.

Tip: Model the mating part before modeling a fixture to hold it such that critical dimensions can be visually confirmed.

The clamp installed with a satisfying click and works as intended. The sharp edge, onyx against paint, seems to have scraped some debris from the textured lamp post.

Tip: Clamp designs should smooth any edge that rubs against a finished surface.
