Hook Torque Relief

We use magnetic hooks to hold bags of specialized package recycling but as the bags get full the hooks pry the magnet free. This device will neutralize the lever arm twisting the magnet in the same way a classic picture hook holds weight without twisting the nail in drywall.

The magnet surround was modified to print without support. The first hook was simply rectangular at twice the thickness but broke upon removal from the printer. A thinned version with additional reinforcement printed faster and has not failed.

A traditional refrigerator magnet engages the original hook to prevent sliding, the other failure mode.

Tip: hook would be more attractive if it were modeled as a cylinder or possibly a truncated cone.
